Pistons for STIHL 029 / MS290 models are compatible with pistons for SR 400 model in terms of piston & pin diameters and groove dimensions, only. In fact, the piston for SR 400 has different compression size than the piston for 029 / MS290, and also it has windows around the pin, while the piston for 029 / MS290 does not.
